Meet A #Futureshaper: Taylor Alberstadt

Taylor is bringing new, more efficient forms of air travel to life with urban air mobility.

Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is the development of aircraft and infrastructure to transport people over urban environments on demand.

Engineers at Honeywell are building systems and technologies to power UAM vehicles, or what you might think of as flying taxis, carrying either people or cargo above city streets.

Taylor Alberstadt is bringing those technologies to market as sales and marketing leader for UAM and Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) within Aerospace Technologies.
“Over the next few years, we’re really going to see this market start to take off,” he said.

Get to know more about Taylor’s #Futureshaper story and the future of travel.

What should people know about UAM?

Think about flying taxis. How far off in the future does it feel? That’s the future we are enabling today – a 100-mile journey, door-to-door in 45 minutes or less; same-day package delivery anywhere in the populated world. This isn’t a pipe dream, this is a more efficient and more sustainable way of traveling that will happen in our lifetime.

Tell us a bit about your career path.

My Honeywell journey represents a professional and personal evolution. I have had incredible mentors who have led me down a path I would have never expected; an internship, program management, business management, product ownership, digital partnership, electric and hybrid-electric business development, and now leading the UAS/UAM sales and marketing team globally.

What does Futureshaper mean to you?
To me, a Futureshaper is a person who can influence how lives will be lived going forward. While Honeywell is giving me that platform through meaningful work in an emerging, future-focused market today, it’s more than a work-focused definition. It’s knowing that I’ve been given a significant responsibility with my talents to drive a positive impact to the world – to people and the planet more broadly.
